Original signed wood carving by Caricature Carvers of America member Cleve Taylor. Cleve is the “Cowboy Carver” of the Pacific Northwest. Many of his carvings are western scenes and they usually depict the cowboy in humorous situations. The cowboy doesn’t see the humor in this dentist’s office scene, but his horse apparently does. Dennis loves peoples’ reactions to his work. He has won many awards for his carvings, including “Best of Shows” and “Peoples Choice.” “Tall Tales,” an unpainted basswood carving of a pilot, is a classic example of his style. Bob, a soon to be retired Professor in the College of Agriculture at the University of California, Davis enjoys carving the American cowboy in humorous situations. Joe, a life-long art student, has interests in many art forms including portrait drawing, Chinese brush painting, calligraphy, stained glass, cartooning, and pottery. Most recently he studied cartoon animation and clay animation at the Disney Institute. Joe’s carvings certainly reflect his extensive background in art.
