Desiree Hajny of Blue Hill, NE is currently an emeritus member of the Caricature Carvers of America.  She was an original member of the organization in its inception.

Desiree has been involved in carving full time since 1985.  Before that she was an art teacher at the high school level. She has written six books on carving and contributed to another six.  In 2003 she was named Carver of the Year by Woodcarving Illustrated.  While still competing she garnered seventeen Best of Show awards and People's Choice awards and over one hundred first place awards.  

Desiree continues to travel through North America instructing, serving as a judge in competitions and giving talks on her art.
