Tex Haase

Tex started carving at the age of eight. After high school, three years in the U.S. Marines, and a B.S. in mathematics, he began carving professionally. Tex expanded his knowledge with an M.A. in art in 1976. He taught art and woodcarving at the vocational school, high school, and college levels after 1976. Tex taught wood carving seminars, judged carving shows, and was a frequent blue-ribbon and best-of-show winner throughout the Southwest.

Tex died in November, 2002.

Tex was a founding member of CCA and a member of the International Woodcarvers Congress and several other organizations.
