Tex Haase
Tex started carving at the age
of eight. After high school, three years in the
U.S. Marines, and a B.S. in mathematics, he began
carving professionally. Tex expanded his knowledge
with an M.A. in art in 1976. He taught art and
woodcarving at the vocational school, high school,
and college levels after 1976. Tex taught wood
carving seminars, judged carving shows, and was
a frequent blue-ribbon and best-of-show winner
throughout the Southwest.
Tex died in November, 2002.
Tex was a founding member of CCA and a
member of the International Woodcarvers Congress and
several other organizations.
